Spirit Night

This Thursday, November 5th from 3-9 pm is Spirit Night.

Come out and join us at Chuck E. Cheese!

Be sure and tell them it is for Dalraida when you pay. 

We also get credit for tokens you purchase if you pay for them at the register

 and tell them it is for Dalraida!

The class with the most people in attendance will win a treat party the next day at school!

Membership Drive

With all the busyness of back to school did you forget to join the PPA? Now is your opportunity to join and be a  part of what is going on at DES. It cost just $5 per person to join and Parents, Grandparents, family and neighbors can join. The deadline to join is Thursday, November 19th.
In order to attend PPA meetings you must be a member.

The PPA and Student Council are hosting a Food Drive.

We will be collecting food and personal hygiene items November 2-19.

Suggested items you can bring include: canned vegetables, canned meat, spaghetti sauce and noodles, soup and boxed crackers, canned stew beef and muffin mix, rice and dry beans, as well as hygiene items like toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, and soap.

We are making this a friendly competition between all classes, K-5. 

The class that brings in the most items will win FREE PIZZA at their Christmas Party!

So start bringing your food and hygiene items now and help us fill the pickup truck 

that will arrive on Friday, November 20 to collect our donations!

2nd Grade Program

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 22 is the program for 2nd graders. The program begins at 6:00 and we will have a brief PPA meeting before the program begins.

The front doors will open at 5:00 so that you can come before the program and eat.

We have two vendors coming that will be selling food. "That's My Dog" and "Teirs of Sweetness" will be selling things like hot dogs,  drinks, slices of cake, cookies, brownies and other tasty treats!

Don't Forget!

This Thursday, October 15 from 4:00-8:30 pm is our first Spirit Night of the year!

We will be at the Ann Street location of Chick-fil-A. Wear your spirit shirts and come out to support Dalraida! Make sure you tell them it is for Dalraida. We have been told it will be for dine-in or drive thru, just make sure you mention Dalraida so we get credit.

Tomorrow, Wednesday September 23 is popcorn day!

If you did not prepay you can purchase popcorn and water for $2 tomorrow, or you may choose to get only popcorn or only water for $1. Make sure you give your cash money to the homeroom teacher when you first get to school.

This Friday is the last day to turn in Box Tops! 

We have had several t-shirt orders come in over the last week after our original deadline. Because of this we will extend the final deadline to Friday, September 18th. We must have the order in that morning at 8 am so we can get the t-shirts ordered. If you would like to order and don't have a form you can write your child's name, homeroom and size shirt you would like on the envelope with $12 enclosed.

Dalraida students can now wear Spirit Shirts on Friday!

This years shirts should be here in about 2-3 weeks if you ordered one.

Deadline

Don't forget this Thursday, September 3rd is the last day to turn in your order form for spirit shirts, prepay for popcorn and water, and pay PPA membership!

Remember, the class with the most PPA memberships wins a treat!

Mrs. Harris wanted me to remind all parents or grandparents who park on Pelzer, Honeysuckle, Johnstown or Haley Ct and meet your children who walk after school- PLEASE DO NOT park where the curbs are painted yellow or block the driveway or mailbox of those who live there. Beginning tomorrow, Friday, August 28 MPD will be in our area checking for this very thing. The ticket is $10 if you should receive a fine. Lets just all remember to treat our Dalraida School neighbors the way we would want to be treated if that was our home.

It's that time of year again!  We will be collecting Box Tops from now until Friday, September 18th. Our goal this year is $3,000 and all money will be used to to help the school. Please send your trimmed and in date Box Tops in a zip top bag or envelope with your child's name and homeroom teacher. By doing this we can give the correct class credit. We will be giving the winning class in grades K-2 and 3-5 a special treat for collecting the most Box Tops.

TUESDAY.....................MY TEACHER IS GREAT BECAUSE...make a card, write a not, or draw a picture of why your teacher is great.

Courtyard Update

Thanks to your donations and fundraising we finally have picnic tables and umbrellas in the courtyard.  We will continue to work to make the courtyard a functioning outdoor classroom and break area for the DES students, faculty and staff.

During Music Class

• Auditions are open to students in 3rd to 5th grades; 
• Talent must not exceed 2 minutes;
• Each student must return a completed and signed Registration Form when they audition; 
• Soloist and groups up to 6 allowed;
• Students can ONLY perform in one act and may only audition once;
• Top 5 finalist will perform at GREEN & GOLD DAY!

Fundraising Meeting March 9th

PPA will hold a fundraising kickoff meeting Monday, March 9th at 5:30 in the DES Lunchroom.  We will be discussing the PPA's spring fundraiser as well as voting on fundraisers for the 2015-2016 school year.
