REMINDER

Just a few reminders:

• When making online payments, please be sure to continue to add to your cart and only check out once not multiple times.
• ALL PPA money & forms are due on or before September 5th.  If you pay online, please do not send your forms to school.
• If you paid your PPA Membership at the Open House, please do not send your Membership Form to school.
• The PPA is not selling DES sweatshirts or jackets.  Please speak with someone in the DES office if you have questions.
• The Carpool Auction ends August 28th at 2pm.  Please email your bids to PPA President include Bid/Front or Bid/Back in subject line.
• Please continue to check the Calendar page to stay up to date on all DES and PPA events and deadlines.

BooHoo to Yahoo Breakfast!

This morning the PPA hosted a BooHoo to Yahoo Breakfast for Kindergarten Parents.  This event was held in the school library and the parents were treated to donuts, coffee and juice.  Mrs. Willingham spoke the parents about how the school library works and various volunteer opportunities in the library.  We also read The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. 

Thank you to all the Kindergarten Parents that attended this event and we look forward to hosting this event again next year.

PPA Welcome Back Packet

During the first week of school expect your child to bring home the DES PPA Welcome Back Packet.  This packet contains information about the PPA, Membership Registration, Room Parents, Library Volunteers, 2014-2015 shirt pre-order, September-December Snack pre-order  and Volunteer Opportunities available during the school year.

We ask that you fill out and return these forms and money to school in the PPA envelopes provided by September 5th.

Don't forget ALL PPA announcements and newsletters will be printed on GREEN paper.

Every Principal needs a survival kit to make it through the year.  This is the survival kit that the PPA will be presenting to Mrs. Harris before the official first day of school.

Children's Harbor Thank You Letters

The students of Dalraida Elementary School donated $1000 to Children's Harbor in Honor of Mrs. Elise Keith.

Thank you to all the students who participated in Spirit Shirt Days the last week of school.

Your money will go a long way to help children in your community.

No more arriving at school early to be the first in line!  You can bid for your own personal carpool spot for the 2014-2015 school year. 

Arrive anytime between 2:30 and 3:00 and breeze through afternoon pickup!  You will also have reserved parking for ALL DES events and reserved seating at your child's program nights.

A BRAND NEW SCHOOL YEAR!

  August 11th marks the First Day Back to School and the First Day students at Dalraida will call Mrs. Michelle Harris "Principal."  As you know, we lost 9 staff members at the end of the 2013-2014 school year and Mrs. Harris has been worked tirelessly to fill the vacant positions.  With new staff and students brings new changes within DES and PPA.
